Phoebe's daughter Lian celebrated her 1st birthday at Jollibee! Kiddie Party!!! I felt like a kid again! Lots of kids, party hats, spaghetti, chicken, ice cream, mascots, kiddie games, and a lot more!!! It's been years since I last attended a kiddie party (Jollibee style) haha
The party started with some kiddie games, bring me, longest "something" (happy birthday liannnnn)etc, etc. haha After that, eating time! 1pc chicken joy, spaghetti, burger and ice cream! Gosh, I'm so full even though I only ate the chicken joy meal. haha And last but not the least, the mascots! hahaha Jollibee and Twirlie. Entertained the guest by dancing "Get Low" hahaha and by the way, Jollibee know how to do a head stand! hahaha Too bad I wasn't able to capture that moment! =p

After 3 months, I finally watched the US Figure Skating Championship on ESPN. I know it's kinda late because the 2008 US Figure Skating Championship was held last January 20-27, 2008 in Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul, Minnesota. A lot of new skaters and two of them are my favorite - Caroline Zhang and Mirai Nagasu both 14 years old!
Caroline Zhang started skating at the age of 5 and her ice skating career started off when she won the Junior Grand Prix event in Mexico. She is also known for her creative spin position (check out the photo of Caroline below), her signature spin called the "Pearl". She placed 2nd at the 2007 National Championship, placed 1st at the 2007 World Junior Championship and placed 4th on her first season at the US Figure Skating Championship. Zhang moved to the senior level (national and international) and joined Skate America where she placed 3rd and Cup of China where she placed 2nd.
Mirai Nagasu also started skating at the age of 5. She was ahead of Caroline Zhang last 2007 National Championship but placed 2nd at the 2007 World Junior Championship behind Zhang and she was the champion for the 2008 US Figure Skating Championship. She moved to the senior level nationally but remained on the Junior level internationally. After winning the US Figure Skating Championship, she won other 3 Junior level competitions but placed 3rd on the recent World Junior Championship.

Last Monday, was my first time to skate at the SM Mall of Asia Ice Skating Rink and an assist coach for a day (well, not an official assist coach, hehe). My mom asked me if I can accompany Sophia (daughter of my dad's former officemate) to skate this summer and I definitely said yes. It was supposed to be first week of April but I was busy then (I think). Good thing that it pushed through last April 28. =)

April 18 - We headed for the JAM bus station and met my Tita, cousin, and niece at around 5am. We missed the first trip of the bus from Manila to Batangas but we were able to rode the 2nd trip around 5:30am and reached Batangas Port at around 8:00am. We were supposed to ride the ferry boat at 8:10 but since there was a delay, we were able to ride the boat at 9:00. Arrived at White Beach, Puerto Galera pass 10am (my first time at Puerto Galera, Yey!). We did not find a hard time looking for a place to stay because there was a lot of people offering different hotels and we ended up staying at White Beach Hotel. The place is fine for an overnight stay. The room is good for 5 people, air-conditioned room with cable TV. After fixing our things we ate lunch while we are waiting for my Tito, Tita and cousins coming from Pinamalayan. While we are playing at the shore with my niece and cousin, they (my Mom and company) decided to go snorkeling around 2pm, but before that, my cousins decided to have a henna tattoo. =) I got myself a dolphin henna =). Few hours after we headed for a snorkeling galore! Snorkeling with a boat pulling us. (haha) We went around Coral Garden and had an unlimited encounter of corals and fishes. =) After hours of snorkeling and feeding the fishes in Coral Garden, we went back to the resort to rest, have some snack with my cousins (my treat, got tired from the snorkeling activity, haha) and waited for the sunset at Puerto Galera (sooo nice!).
We were also able to experience the night life at Puerto =) Walk around the beach to look for a restaurant to have dinner. My cousin want to have a dinner at the Floating restaurant but we decided not to because we might throw up because of the waves (haha).
April 19 - Last day at Puerto, since we only availed of an overnight stay. What would be the best way to spend the last day at Puerto? Shopping Galore!!! =) We left Puerto Galera around 10:00am to travel from Puerto Galera to Pinamalayan, a 3 to 4 hours drive! Soo tiring! We also passed-by one of the tourists spots in Mindoro, the Tamaraw Falls. We had a stop over and had our picture taken. Also had some snack and the Banana Cue that we ate was the BEST! hahaha We reached my Tito's house at Pinamalayan around 1:00pm, soooo tiring!!! I got to bond with my cousins and niece by playing with them and Videoke! hahaha I feel like I'm a kid again =p
April 20 - Time to go home. Last day of my summer vacation at Mindoro. Until next summer! =D

Yesterday was my first year anniversary here at US Auto Parts Philippines together with Aysa, Fatima,Vins, Lauren, Anna, TJ and Rey (did I miss someone?) lol.
This company changed my view regarding the 'Internet'. At first I thought Internet was just about browsing, friendster, multiply, writing blogs, posting pictures, downloading stuffs etc. etc. Here, I learned that someone could generate income on the net by blogging using AdSense, Affiliate Marketing etc., I learned how Google recognize websites we see when we conduct search, I learned how Internet Marketing works, I learned different techniques on how to analyze web data, and a looooot more! Thank God I found this industry that is very interesting and somewhat related to my course. Haha.
Happy Anniversary to US! More learnings and years to come?! hahaha
If you guys wanna see a glimpse of our work place, try watching this video Funky Pasig Scandal.

This sport is getting very popular here in the Philippines not just for countries where natural ice is present. The country already had 5 Ice Skating Rinks, one in Cebu, Sta Lucia East Grand Mall, SM Megamall, SM Southmall and SM Mall of Asia but at present we only maintain three Ice Skating Rinks all located in SM Malls (Megamall, Soutmall, Mall of Asia).
Ice Skating Rink here in the Philippines where created to provide alternative recreation for the Filipino and they also offered formal Ice Skating lessons. As the sport grows, SM Ice Skating rinks joined different organizations like Ice Skating Institute of America, the biggest recreational ice skating group and with the help of the Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Olympic Committee, Ice Skating Institute of the Philippines now known as the Philippine Ice Skating Union was established.
At present, Filipino skaters actively join competitions abroad, USA and Asia and also conducts different Ice Skating competitions here in the Philippines. SM skating rinks are trying to develop competitive skaters for future ice skating competitions not just here in the Philippines but also in other countries. Last August 2007, the annual Skate Asia competition was held in the SM International Ice Skating Rink in Mall of Asia, SM Megamall got first place, SM Southmall got 2nd place and SM Mall of Asia got the 5th spot for this competition.
Keep up the good work skaters! =)
